پاکستان کے وزیر اعظم اور صدر مملکت نے جمعرات کو فیلڈ مارشل عاصم منیر کی بطور چیف آف ڈیفنس فورسز اور آرمی چیف پانچ سال تعیناتی کی منظوری دے دی۔
وزیر اعظم ہاؤس سے جاری ایک بیان میں بتایا گیا کہ فیلڈ مارشل کی تقرری سے متعلق سمری منظوری کے بعد ایوان صدر بھجوا دی گئی۔
بعد ازاں ایوان صدر سے جاری بیان میں کہا گیا کہ صدر آصف علی زرداری نے ارسال کردہ سمری کی منظوری دے دی، جس کے تحت فیلڈ مارشل عاصم منیر، چیف آف آرمی سٹاف کو بیک وقت پانچ سال کے لیے چیف آف ڈیفنس فورسز مقرر کردیا گیا۔
بیان کے مطابق صدر نے ایئر چیف مارشل ظہیر احمد بابر سدھو، چیف آف ایئر سٹاف کی مدت ملازمت میں دو سال کی توسیع کی بھی منظوری دی، جو ان کی موجودہ مدت کے 19 مارچ، 2026 کو مکمل ہونے کے بعد مؤثر ہوگی۔
وزیر اعظم ہاؤس سے جاری بیان میں بتایا گیا کہ ’فیلڈ مارشل سید عاصم منیر چیف آف آرمی سٹاف کے ساتھ ساتھ چیف آف ڈیفنس فورسز بھی ہوں گے اور یہ تعیناتی پانچ سال کے لیے ہے۔‘
27ویں آئینی ترمیم کے بعد چیف آف ڈیفنس فورسز کا نیا عہدہ متعارف کروایا گیا تھا جس نے کئی دہائیوں سے موجود چیئرمین جوائنٹ چیفس آف سٹاف کمیٹی کی جگہ لی۔
چیئرمین جوائنٹ چیفس آف سٹاف کمیٹی کا عہدہ 27 نومبر کو باضابطہ طور پر ختم ہو گیا تھا اور توقع تھی کہ اسی دن یا اس کے فوراً بعد چیف آف ڈیفینس فورسز کی تقرری کا نوٹیفکیشن بھی جاری کر دیا جائے گا۔
تاہم جمعرات کو پاکستان کے مقامی ذرائع ابلاغ پر ایک نوٹیفیکیشن کے ساتھ خبر سامنے آئی کہ وزیر اعظم اور صدر نے اس تعیناتی کی منظوری دے دی مگر کچھ ہی لمحوں بعد اس خبر کو ’جعلی‘ قرار دے کر واپس لے لیا گیا۔

اسلام آباد میں ایک پریس کانفرنس کے دوران وزیر قانون اعظم نذیر تارڑ نے بھی عندیہ دیا تھا کہ ’اصل‘ نوٹیفیکیشن جلد جاری کر دیا جائے گا۔
اس حوالے سے وزیر اعظم آفس سے اب ایک بیان جاری کیا گیا جس کے مطابق شہباز شریف نے فیلڈ مارشل عاصم منیر کی بطور چیف آف ڈیفنس فورسز تقرری سے متعلق سمری منظوری کے بعد ایوان صدر بھجوا دی ہے۔
بیان کے مطابق وزیراعظم شہباز شریف نے چیف آف ایئر سٹاف، ایئر چیف مارشل ظہیر احمد بابر سدھو کی مدت ملازمت میں بھی دو سال کی توسیع کی منظوری دی ہے۔
وزیر اعظم کے دفتر سے جاری بیان کے مطابق اس توسیع کا اطلاق ان کی موجودہ پانچ سالہ مدت ملازمت کے مارچ 2026 میں مکمل ہونے پر ہو گا۔
